This position is a member of the Public Works Department which includes the Streets, Water, and Wastewater Divisions. This position is responsible for maintenance and repair of City's water distribution system, which consists of approximately 185 miles of water main, 1,500 fire hydrants and 13,160 water services. Employee performs miscellaneous duties such as operating and repairing equipment, general clean up, concrete finishing, painting, etc. Employee operates, maintain, and repairs various machinery, power and hand tools, and equipment daily. Good communications skills are required as this position frequently deals directly with the public. The primary hours of this position are Monday through Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm; however, extended shifts and overtime on weekends, evenings, and holidays are required. Successful candidates must establish residency within a 20-mile aerial radius of Collinsville City Hall, within twelve (12) months of hire date. This is a union position with the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 520C.
