About The Position

American Leak Detection of Maryland is seeking highly motivated individuals for a full-time career as a Water Leak Detection Technician and Plumber. This role involves performing electronic water leak detections and plumbing repairs on interior and exterior residential & commercial properties, pools, and spas. The position requires diagnosing the cause and origin of concealed leaks, structural leaks, and water infiltration damage, as well as repairing plumbing pipes and drain systems. The technician will also communicate with management, colleagues, and customers, provide professional customer service, work outdoors, and master various leak detection technologies.

Requirements

  • Mechanically inclined with a strong plumbing background.
  • Comfortable with learning and using new technology.
  • A self-starter with a mind for problem solving.
  • Enjoy working outside, in a variety of conditions, and not sitting in a cube or office every day.
  • Appreciate working a standard schedule, with occasional night or weekend jobs.
  • Able to perform intermittent, sometimes heavy, physical labor.
  • Willing to travel from time to time as business needs may require.
  • Open to potential relocation in the future should the opportunity arise.
  • Multiple years of plumbing as a Journeyman or an Apprentice.
  • Mechanically inclined, knows how to use a variety of tools.
  • Ability to deliver excellent customer service.
  • Exceptional team player: energetic, goal-oriented, positive, optimistic, and great attitude!
  • Current Driver’s License, with a good driving record.
  • Ability to create well written and concise reports to effectively describe the leak issue.
  • Self-motivated, enjoy working independently, organized, and enjoys being self-directed.
  • Ability to swim.
  • Neat appearance, have a high standard of professionalism and character.
  • Ability to take on physical work and capable of moving/lifting up to 100 pounds.
  • High School or equivalent / some college education.
  • Has knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Journey Plumber license holders may be eligible for higher range.
  • A mechanical, electronics, and construction background is a plus.
  • Veterans from all branches are highly desired & encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electronic water leak detections on interior and exterior residential & commercial properties, pools and spas.
