About The Position
YMCA at Sumner County is Now Hiring for Water Fitness Instructor. This is a part-time position with a pay range starting at $14 per hour, with potential for more based on experience. The role is for someone who loves leading group fitness classes and inspiring others to achieve their wellness goals. The instructor will bring energy and fun to every class while making a real impact.
Requirements
- Minimum Age: 18
- Teaching experience (less than 1 year is okay!)
- A passion for fitness and great communication skills
- Before start of 1st class: New Hire Orientation training
- Before start of 1st class: One of the following certifications:
- Group Exercise Primary Certification (ACE, AFAA, ISSA, etc.)
- Specialty Certification (Cycling, Yoga, Les Mills, Ripped, Zumba, etc.)
- YMCA Group Fitness Instructor Certification provided by the Y upon hire (Principles of Member Health and Wellness, Foundations of Group Exercise at the Y)
- Within 30 days of hire: CPR Pro/First Aid/AED (we pay for these)
Nice To Haves
- Specialty certification preferred (Cycling, Zumba, Les Mills, etc.)
- Yoga or Pilates instructors need 20+ training hours.
Responsibilities
- Lead high-quality group fitness classes that are fun, safe, and educational.
- Help members feel supported on their fitness journeys.
- Maintain a clean and organized workout space.
- Build relationships with members.
- Create a welcoming environment for all.
- Collaborate with and support the team.
