About The Position

Arcadis is seeking entry-level Water Engineers for its Columbus, OH team to support and grow its capabilities and advance high-profile projects focused on adapting Ohio to changing environmental conditions. The role involves tackling challenges and developing sustainable solutions for water issues such as resilience, quality, reuse, and management. Successful candidates will collaborate with experienced water professionals, support project development, interact with clients, and develop technical skills. Requirements

  • BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a closely related field of study.
  • Self-motivated and team-oriented.
  • Ability to work successfully both independently and within a team.

  • Initiative to take on new projects and challenges regularly.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal.

Nice To Haves

  • EIT, with a desire to obtain PE.
  • Knowledge of engineering concepts, theories, and practices related to water/wastewater/stormwater.
  • Basic understanding/familiarity with AutoCAD, ArcGIS, and other process modeling and engineering software.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluating, planning, designing, and supporting the management of various projects related to resiliency, drinking water, and wastewater for clients.
  • Assisting in the design of water, wastewater, and stormwater projects, including treatment facilities, pumping stations, and water and sewer mains.
  • Preparing reports, presentations, and other audio-visual materials.
  • Participating in client meetings.
  • Performing fieldwork such as site visits, construction inspection, sampling, water quality analyses, asset inventory, and technology evaluations.
  • Collaborating with technical staff to develop cost estimates and layout plans.
  • Utilizing modeling and design software for project development and execution.
  • Participating in the design process and observing construction activities for quality and compliance.
  • Gaining exposure to client, contractor, and consulting engineering meetings.
