About The Position

Arcadis is seeking a dedicated, creative, and energetic Entry Level Water Engineer for their Indianapolis, IN team. This role focuses on tackling challenges and developing sustainable solutions for water quality, scarcity, reuse, management, and resilience. The engineer will collaborate with experienced professionals, support project development, interact with clients, and enhance technical capabilities within the Resilience business area, which aims to protect natural environments and water resources for future generations.

  • Bachelors of Science degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (or a closely related engineering discipline).

Nice To Haves

  • Prior work/internship experience at a design or consulting engineering firm or municipal work environment.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, ArcGIS, and/or Revit.
  • EIT certification.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluating, planning, and designing projects related to water/wastewater/stormwater treatment and conveyance, including pipelines and pumping facilities.
  • Supporting project management activities.
  • Contributing to sustainability and resilience projects by conducting vulnerability assessments, mitigation planning, and designing solutions for utilities, municipalities, and cities.
  • Performing field tasks such as site visits, water sampling, analyzing water quality, evaluating technologies, troubleshooting processes, and optimizing plant operations.
  • Gathering critical data and ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of water and wastewater systems.
  • Supporting the preparation of reports, presentations, and other audio-visual materials.
  • Participating in client meetings.
  • Ensuring project compliance with all Arcadis practices and quality, health and safety standards.
  • Facilitating coordination for timely completion and submission of projects on time and budget.
  • Learning, designing, and managing databases, SQL server (including reporting and integration services), cloud-based computing services, and configuration of interactive dashboards.
  • Working independently and as part of a team, with flexibility for collaboration across the U.S. and internationally.
  • Learning and using digital tools to enhance customer experience, team and client collaboration, and project delivery, including configuration and deployment of SharePoint, Building Information Modeling (BIM), Power BI, and Augmented Reality.
