About The Position

Arcadis is seeking an engineering intern to join their Water Business Line in their Austin or San Antonio office. The role focuses on protecting natural environments and water resources while powering the world for future generations. The team assists municipalities and private clients with designing and constructing resilient infrastructure for water, wastewater, and stormwater systems, addressing challenges like climate change, rapid urbanization, and loss of biodiversity.

Requirements

Pursuing a BS in Civil, Environmental, or Water Resources Engineering, or another closely related academic discipline.
Knowledge of engineering concepts, theories, and practices related to water/wastewater/stormwater.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Nice To Haves

Prior internship or coursework in water/wastewater, water resources, or related sectors.
EIT certification.

Responsibilities

Evaluating, planning, and designing projects for water, wastewater, and stormwater treatment and conveyance.
Assessing, developing, and supporting the design of facilities and infrastructure by assisting with field investigations, performing calculations, writing technical memos, assembling drawings, writing specifications, and helping with construction phase services.
Troubleshooting processes and optimizing operations.
Problem solving and coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams.
Supporting the preparation of reports, presentations, and other audio-visual materials, and participating in client meetings.
Ensuring project compliance with all Arcadis practices and quality, health and safety standards.
Facilitating coordination for timely completion and submission of projects on time and budget.
Working independently and as part of a team, with the flexibility to accommodate collaboration with team members across the U.S. and internationally.
Learning and using digital tools to enhance customer experience, team and client collaboration, and project delivery including configuration and deployment of SharePoint and Building Information Modeling (BIM).
