This Environmental Manager 2 position serves as a case manager in the Enforcement Section of the Office of Water Quality. The role ensures regulated entities return to compliance with state and federal laws related to wastewater, drinking water, stormwater, and wetlands by evaluating enforcement referrals, analyzing evidence, drafting legal enforcement documents, negotiating settlements, and coordinating with the Attorney General's Office when necessary. Case managers work closely with Office of Water Quality program staff to understand technical issues and with the Office of Legal Counsel to support the development and resolution of enforcement actions. The role requires strong organizational skills, clear verbal and written communication, and the capacity to work with individuals of varied backgrounds. It has significant impact on statewide environmental compliance efforts and requires independent judgment, foundational knowledge of environmental and water program concepts, and the ability to act professionally in confrontational or complex situations. This position requires a valid IN driver's license.
