Water Damage & Mold Remediation Technician
About The Position
Voda Cleaning & Restoration of Sarasota is seeking a Water Damage & Mold Remediation Technician to respond to homes and businesses affected by water damage, mold, and other property emergencies. Working alongside an experienced restoration team, the technician assesses damage, protects properties, removes affected materials, sets up drying equipment, and helps customers recover. The position offers hands-on restoration experience, paid industry training and certification opportunities, and the chance to develop skills and take on more responsibility over time. The company describes itself as a small, locally owned team serving Sarasota and Manatee Counties.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic computer and smartphone skills for job documentation.
- Ability to take measurements and perform basic job-site calculations.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to participate in emergency/on-call work.
- Dependability, willingness to learn, and readiness to perform hard work.
Nice To Haves
- At least 1 year of water mitigation, mold remediation, restoration, construction, or similar hands-on experience; preferred.
- Water mitigation and/or mold certifications.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Positive attitude and desire to learn and advance.
Responsibilities
- Perform water damage mitigation and structural drying.
- Perform mold remediation in accordance with established protocols and industry standards.
- Set up and monitor air movers, dehumidifiers, air scrubbers, containment, and other restoration equipment.
- Remove damaged building materials when necessary.
- Take moisture readings and document drying progress.
- Communicate professionally with homeowners, property managers, and other customers.
- Complete daily job logs, work orders, photographs, and restoration documentation.
- Maintain company vehicles, equipment, tools, and supplies.
- Inspect completed work and help ensure jobs meet Voda's standards.
- Keep company vehicles clean, organized, and properly stocked.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for emergency water losses.
