About The Position

ServiceMaster Restore is seeking an experienced and certified Water Damage Crew Chief to join their restoration team. This role requires professional water mitigation experience, including understanding structural drying, leading technicians, communicating with customers, and taking ownership of job sites. The ideal candidate will lead crews on residential and commercial water loss projects, perform water extraction and structural drying, inspect affected areas, and utilize various inspection and drying equipment. Responsibilities also include performing demolition and containment, protecting customer property, maintaining clean and safe job sites, directing crew activities, completing documentation using company technology, ensuring safety procedures are followed, maintaining vehicles and equipment, training technicians, and communicating job status to supervisors. Participation in an on-call rotation is also required.

Requirements

  • Professional water-damage/restoration experience.
  • Knowledge of water extraction and structural drying.
  • Experience with moisture meters and drying equipment.
  • Ability to lead technicians.
  • Strong communication and customer-service skills.
  • Strong documentation and mobile technology skills.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving requirements.
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position.
  • Availability for emergency/on-call work as scheduled.

Nice To Haves

  • IICRC WRT certification is strongly preferred.
  • Additional certifications such as ASD and AMRT.
  • Commercial water-loss experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technicians on residential and commercial water losses.
  • Perform water extraction and structural drying.
  • Inspect affected areas and identify moisture migration.
  • Use moisture meters and other inspection equipment.
  • Set up and monitor air movers, dehumidifiers, and air filtration devices.
  • Perform controlled demolition and containment.
  • Protect customer property and maintain clean, safe jobsites.
  • Direct daily crew activities and maintain production standards.
  • Communicate professionally with customers.
  • Complete accurate photos, moisture readings, and daily documentation.
  • Use Restore 365, Mitigate, DocuSketch, and other company technology.
  • Ensure crews follow safety procedures and company standards.
  • Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment.
  • Train and develop newer technicians.
  • Communicate job conditions and changes to the Supervisor or Project Manager.
  • Participate in emergency/on-call response as scheduled.
