About The Position

ServiceMaster Restore is seeking an experienced and certified Water Damage Crew Chief to lead their restoration team. This is not an entry-level role; the ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of water mitigation, safe and efficient work practices, and the ability to lead technicians and produce high-quality restoration work. The company is looking for individuals with restoration experience, industry certifications, and a desire for increased responsibility and career growth.

Requirements

  • Previous professional water-damage/restoration experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of water extraction and structural drying.
  • Experience using moisture meters and drying equipment.
  • Ability to lead technicians on active restoration projects.
  • Strong customer-service and communication skills.
  • Strong jobsite documentation habits.
  • Ability to use smartphones, tablets, and restoration software.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving requirements.
  • Ability to work in active residential and commercial restoration environments.
  • Ability to meet the documented physical requirements of the position, with reasonable accommodation where applicable.
  • Availability for emergency-response/on-call work according to the position's established schedule.
  • IICRC WRT certification is strongly preferred.
  • Candidates with WRT + ASD and/or AMRT are especially encouraged to apply.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with commercial water losses is a major plus.

  • Additional restoration, safety, or industry certifications are a plus.
  • Experience with asbestos/lead awareness and company-required sampling or testing procedures, where appropriately trained and authorized.

Responsibilities

  • Leading technicians and directing daily work on restoration projects.
  • Performing water extraction and mitigation services.
  • Inspecting affected areas and identifying moisture migration.
  • Using moisture meters and other inspection equipment.
  • Setting up air movers, dehumidifiers, air filtration devices, and other drying equipment.
  • Monitoring drying progress and documenting moisture readings.
  • Performing controlled demolition when required.
  • Establishing containment and protecting unaffected areas.
  • Maintaining clean, organized, and professional jobsites.
  • Communicating with customers throughout the work.
  • Taking complete and accurate jobsite photographs.
  • Maintaining accurate daily documentation.
  • Using Restore 365, Mitigate, DocuSketch, and other company technology.
  • Ensuring technicians follow company procedures and safety requirements.
  • Performing quality-control checks before leaving the jobsite.
  • Maintaining and caring for company vehicles, tools, and restoration equipment.
  • Helping train and develop newer restoration technicians.
  • Communicating project conditions and changes to the Project Manager or Supervisor.
  • Identifying conditions outside the approved scope and escalating them appropriately.
  • Participating in emergency and after-hours response according to the position's schedule.
