Nature of Work Provides customer service, support, and assistance for the Water Conservation Program within the City. Facilitates the implementation of water conservation measures to improve water use efficiency and assists in educating and supporting the community through various outreach venues. Environmental Factors Position works indoors in an office setting and outside in all types of weather conditions and may be exposed to animals, insects, traffic hazards, dust and noise. Physical Factors Position requires visual acuity sufficient to comprehend written work instructions, technical documents and diagrams; manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment, including a personal computer or operating a vehicle. Work Situation Factors Position involves competing demands, performing multiple tasks, working to deadlines, work beyond normal business hours, working on holidays, weekends, nights, overtime and standby status and responding to customer issues. Regular attendance is an essential function of this job to ensure continuity of services. High profile position requires extensive interaction with external customers such as elected officials, state officials, and the media. Position is subject to drug testing in accordance with applicable State and Federal regulations and City of Las Cruces policies.
