About The Position

Davis Jewelers is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Watchmaker to join its team in Louisville, Kentucky. The Watchmaker repairs, maintains, and restores a variety of timepieces, including luxury watches, with a focus on precision, craftsmanship, and quality. The role includes diagnosing mechanical issues, assessing repairs, preparing estimates, and performing case refinishing. The Watchmaker also maintains an organized workshop, cares for tools and equipment, monitors parts inventory, and coordinates with vendors. The position works closely with shop administration, sales associates, and leadership to keep customers informed and support a seamless repair experience. Davis Jewelers is a family-owned independent jeweler established in 1930. The company emphasizes teamwork, conscientiousness, craftsmanship, personalized service, and meaningful client relationships. This is a full-time, on-site position in Louisville, with five days per week of typically eight-hour shifts. Competitive compensation is based on experience, technical expertise, and certifications. Requirements

Professional watchmaking experience, including diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and restoring timepieces.
Strong technical knowledge of watch movements, mechanical components, and repair procedures.
Ability to assess repairs accurately and prepare detailed service estimates.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to precision and quality craftsmanship.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple repair projects efficiently.
Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team.
Positive attitude, professionalism, and strong communication skills.
Willingness to participate in continued watchmaking education and technical training.
Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Rolex Level 30 certification or higher.
WOSTEP certification.
SAWTA certification.
CW21 certification.
Experience servicing and restoring luxury watches.
Experience repairing mechanical and automatic watch movements.
Experience polishing, lapping, and refinishing watch cases.
Experience working with multiple luxury timepiece brands.
Experience with watch-parts inventory and vendor coordination.
Customer-service experience in luxury retail or fine jewelry.

Responsibilities

Perform high-quality repairs, maintenance, and restoration on a variety of timepieces and luxury watch brands.
Diagnose mechanical issues and provide accurate, timely repair assessments.
Prepare detailed repair estimates for timepieces across multiple brands.
Maintain high standards of precision, craftsmanship, and quality throughout repairs.
Refinish watch cases, including polishing and lapping.
Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining excellent workmanship.
Keep the workspace clean, organized, and professional.
Store, organize, and maintain watchmaking tools, equipment, and consumables.
Perform routine maintenance on workshop tools and equipment.
Monitor spare-parts inventory and coordinate with parts vendors to obtain necessary components.
Follow established procedures to maintain quality, efficiency, and consistency.
Work with shop administration, sales associates, and leadership to support a seamless repair experience.
Provide timely updates about repair progress, expected completion dates, and potential delays.
Communicate repair findings and recommendations clearly to support customer service.
Contribute to a collaborative team environment with accountability, professionalism, and attention to detail.
