About The Position

We have one vacancy at the Water Restoration Plant for a Treatment Plant Specialist I with a focus on pre-treatment. This position will perform inspections, analyze processes, compare results to regulations and requirements, track changes and ensure compliance. Duties also include monitoring reports and lab data, verifying accuracy of reports, determining deadlines, compliance and performing sampling of permitted users. This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent with additional coursework in chemistry, biology or science preferred and an Associate's Degree in a related field is desirable. An Oregon DEQ Wastewater Treatment I certificate is required within 18 months of promotion date. This position is covered in the Teamsters bargaining unit and incumbents must live within a 30 minute drive of their regularly assigned work site. Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid Oregon Driver’s License Class C
• Must live within a 30 minute drive of their regularly assigned work site

Nice To Haves

• Additional coursework in chemistry, biology or science preferred
• Associate's Degree in a related field is desirable
• Oregon DEQ Wastewater Treatment I certificate required within 18 months of promotion date
• Forklift Certificate required within 12 months of appointment
• CPR certification
• Confined Space Entrant, Attendant and/or Supervisor Certification
• Possession of or ability to obtain any certification or license required by City, State or Federal agencies to work in assigned position
