Requirements
- Candidate must possess a current, valid Class 1, 2, 3, or 4 Virginia state Wastewater Operators license, or a current, valid license from another state with equivalent waste treatment experience.
- Must be willing and able to convert licenses from another state to a Virginia license at first available opportunity.
- Must be willing and able to work rotating shifts, as well as overtime as needed.
- Must be able to perform physical aspects of the role including walking, standing, climbing, etc.
Responsibilities
- Operating wastewater treatment plant equipment
- Conducting operational rounds and checklists
- Conducting testing and sampling activities to ensure wastewater is properly treated
- Issuing work notifications
- Identify and report operational and equipment issues
- Issue work permits
- Managing energy-control of equipment as needed
