About The Position

This position performs skilled, semi-skilled, technical, and manual labor involving equipment preventative maintenance; process operations of wastewater treatment facilities, and other utility facilities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Pass the City background check, post-offer City physical, and drug screen.

Nice To Haves

  • Training in water or wastewater treatment operations (or equivalent knowledge of biology, chemistry, or related field), mechanical systems, or equipment maintenance.
  • One to two years of responsible experience in water and wastewater operation.
  • Basic knowledge of mathematical principles and computer-controlled systems.

Responsibilities

  • Operating and monitoring wastewater treatment plant processes and equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations.
  • Adjusting biological and chemical treatment processes based on data from analyzers, gauges, laboratory results, data trends, and SCADA systems.
  • Collecting and recording samples for regulatory compliance and process control.
  • Performing routine inspections of plant equipment and facilities.
  • Operating pumps, motors, valves, and chemical feed systems.
  • Maintaining accurate operational logs and records.
  • Identifying and troubleshooting equipment or process issues.
  • Assisting with preventive maintenance and overall facility upkeep.
  • Responding to alarms, emergencies, and after-hours callouts as needed to support continuous 24/7 operations.
