Requirements

High school diploma or GED
State-issued Industrial Wastewater Operator license (often distinct from municipal certifications).
Understanding of specific chemical hazards, safety data sheets (SDS), and OSHA regulations.
Safety conscious, 5S driven, and recommends safety corrections immediately.
Self motivated
Candidates must have a work authorization that permits them to work for ABB in the U.S.

Responsibilities

Manage oil-water separators, clarification systems, and chemical precipitation units.
Dosing neutralizing agents, coagulants, and polymers to handle highly variable influent chemistry.
Operate filter presses, centrifuges, and drying beds to safely dewater and prepare hazardous or solid waste for disposal.
Inspect production lines and coordinate with plant operators to manage sudden chemical or volume spikes.
Document discharge metrics to prevent costly regulatory violations and plant shutdowns.
