About The Position

3D Corporate Solutions, a leading manufacturer of protein ingredients for premium pet food, is seeking a Wastewater Technician for their SC Pet Solutions, LLC plant in Ward, SC. This role is responsible for the technical aspects of plant wastewater operations and ensuring compliance with state and federal operating regulations. The position offers a career path with company-sponsored permitting, training, and licenses. The pay is dependent on experience, with a trainee rate starting at $17.80/hr and advancing up to $33.70/hr upon completion of an A certification. The schedule will involve day or night shifts as needed for relief.

Requirements

  • Strong mechanical background.
  • Experience in manufacturing environment for +1 year.
  • Familiar with basic chemicals, chemical compounds, and reactions.
  • Knowledge of process chemicals; dangers associated with safely handling hazardous chemicals.
  • Solid understanding of operation, methods, and procedures of waste treatment.
  • General arithmetic.
  • Ability to keep working relationships, communicate effectively and work with minimum supervision.
  • Demonstrated skill as a forward thinker with an ability to learn.
  • Problem-solving skills are a must.
  • Ability to obtain or currently hold a Wastewater Operator’s A, B, C or D license.
  • Experience in Wastewater.
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills.
  • Understanding of cause and effect of all downstream operations.
  • Mechanical aptitude for machine operation.
  • Ability to read and comprehend written instructions as well as printed machine manual of operation.
  • Reach, grasp, lift 35 lbs, and push/pull/slide heavy material.
  • Make coordinated movements of the hands and arms to grasp and move objects.
  • Stoop, bend, squat, crawl, and climb.

Nice To Haves

  • Current license in biological wastewater treatment and/or the ability to obtain a license within one year.

Responsibilities

  • Perform analyses, recording measurements/actions in applicable record logs.
  • Recognize unusual, inefficient, or dangerous operating conditions and be able to take immediate actions.
  • Troubleshoot and have a basic understanding of process flow and mechanical functions.
  • Inspect equipment and perform routine cleaning/preventive maintenance.
  • Keep work area neat and organized.
  • Monitor and regulate waste treatment discharge to align with all applicable regulations.
  • Assist in the maintenance, repair, and replacement of motors, pumps, gearboxes, pulleys, belts, and other parts of the wastewater process.
  • Perform extensive and in-depth preventive maintenance inspections, checks, and services.
