About The Position

This role is responsible for ensuring the proper functioning of wastewater treatment equipment, monitoring for potential failures, and performing minor repairs or adjustments. The technician will collect water samples for chemical analysis and manage a system of machines to treat wastewater, adhering to environmental regulations and safety standards. This position operates in a manufacturing environment and requires flexibility with working hours.

Requirements

High school diploma, or equivalent required
State of GA Wastewater License required
Oral and written communication – effective.
Personal Computer Skills – Literate with MS Excel, Word.

Nice To Haves

2 Years’ experience as a wastewater operator preferred
Bakery Industry, Understanding of commercial bakeries and bakery equipment.
Understand the water and wastewater process, along with operation of the equipment relative to the wastewater process.

Responsibilities

Ensure that pumps, conveyers, blowers, chlorinators, vacuum equipment, and other wastewater treatment equipment are functioning properly.
Monitor equipment for potential failures and make minor repairs or adjustments as needed.
Collect water samples for chemical analysis.
Monitor all flows into and out of the wastewater equipment.
Add chemicals, such as ammonia or chlorine, to disinfect water or other liquids.
Inspect equipment on a regular basis.
Monitor operating conditions, meters, and gauges.
Collect and test water and sewage samples.
Record meter and gauge readings and operational data.
Operate equipment to purify and clarify water or to process or dispose of sewage.
Clean and maintain equipment, tanks, filter beds, and other work areas.
Follow U.S Environmental Protection Agency regulations.
Ensure safety standards are met.
Work in conjunction with outside pumping contractors and local contractors to assist as needed.
Maintain clean wastewater building, flume, and equipment.
Perform other duties assigned.
