Waste Water Technician
About The Position
Crystal Creamery is seeking a dependable, hands-on Wastewater Technician for its Modesto manufacturing team. The role involves working with equipment, troubleshooting mechanical issues, monitoring wastewater treatment processes, and supporting safe, efficient plant operations. Wastewater operations support the company’s manufacturing processes and environmental compliance. This is an active, hands-on position in an industrial manufacturing environment. Work may take place indoors and outdoors and may involve wet surfaces, varying temperatures, noise, odors, dust, fumes, gases, chemicals, and operating machinery. The technician must follow required safety procedures and use assigned personal protective equipment. The position may require working at heights and entering confined spaces when properly authorized and trained. Applicable forklift and confined-space qualifications must be obtained or maintained in accordance with company requirements.
Requirements
- Safety-conscious and detail-oriented, with pride in maintaining equipment and identifying problems.
- Basic mechanical maintenance, equipment troubleshooting, and repair skills.
- Ability to safely work with treatment chemicals, including acids, caustics, polymers, and disinfectants.
- Basic computer skills for entering data, monitoring processes, and maintaining records.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and communicate effectively with team members.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and recordkeeping skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
- Ability to obtain or maintain applicable forklift and confined-space qualifications, consistent with company requirements.
- Willingness and ability to follow required safety procedures and use assigned personal protective equipment.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of biological wastewater treatment processes.
- Understanding of wastewater testing, chemical treatment, and environmental compliance.
