About The Position

The Wastewater Operator controls water flows and processes through plant equipment and biological systems. The role performs tests and maintenance to ensure proper operation of wastewater-related equipment. Duties may be assigned or reassigned by management at any time. Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Must be wastewater certified or have three years of wastewater experience.
At least one year of prior experience in a rendering facility or production environment.
Willingness to obtain a wastewater certificate.

Nice To Haves

Self-starter who stays busy with constructive work with little supervision.
Good with math.
Good oral communication skills.
Good penmanship.

Responsibilities

Operate the evaporator properly.
Operate the plant skimmer properly.
Manage chemical inventory and add chemicals throughout wastewater treatment processes.
Perform wastewater tests as needed.
Operate the DAF properly.
Control flows throughout wastewater treatment processes.
Clean foot valves and flow meters at pump stations daily.
Monitor MBBRs.
Service and lubricate pumps and gearboxes as needed.
Assist maintenance with projects or work in the area of responsibility.
Monitor aerators and mixers.
Operate the disinfection system properly.
Operate all scrubbers and ancillary equipment properly.
Operate cooling towers properly.
Apply chemicals to sustain a minimum of a 24-hour period.
Dump a container of grease solids using a forklift.
