About The Position

Kleinfelder is hiring a Wastewater System Operator in the Elm Creek, Nebraska area. Technical Operators help ensure the operational efficiency and safety of multiple water supply and wastewater plants. This flex position offers 6–10 hours per week. The role includes field work and office time, with the position described as approximately 75% field work and 25% office time. Technical Operator levels are based on experience and state certifications.

Must live in Elm Creek, Nebraska, or within 50 miles.
Valid driver's license.
Class I or higher Water License.
Must satisfactorily complete employment reference checks, verification of professional licensure and/or educational credentials, a motor vehicle report, and a comprehensive background check following an offer.

Responsibilities

Operate and maintain pumps, motors, and blowers.
Complete and follow up on work orders and process control monitoring.
Monitor and record flow meters and system run hours.
Service and maintain equipment and the overall plant.
Clean sand filters and media filters.
Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot electrical controls with proper training and equipment.
Collect samples for analysis and maintain chain-of-custody records.
Record plant operation details on computer and in writing, and prepare reports.
Monitor treatment processes and make standard operational adjustments based on results.
