About The Position

GD Resources LLC is seeking a qualified and MWRA-certified Wastewater Sampling Technician / Environmental Compliance Specialist to provide wastewater discharge sampling and reporting services for the VA Boston Healthcare System (VABHS). Services will support compliance with Massachusetts Water Resource Authority (MWRA) and municipal wastewater discharge permits across multiple VA healthcare campuses.

Requirements

  • MWRA-certified wastewater sampling technician
  • Experience conducting industrial or municipal wastewater discharge sampling
  • Knowledge of wastewater compliance regulations and environmental reporting procedures
  • Familiarity with chain-of-custody protocols and environmental laboratory coordination
  • Ability to work independently in active healthcare environments
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills
  • Applicants must demonstrate the ability to perform all services in compliance with wastewater discharge permits, OSHA standards, and VA facility requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with federal facilities or healthcare systems
  • Knowledge of EPA, MADEP, and municipal wastewater regulations
  • Experience using electronic environmental reporting systems

Responsibilities

  • Conduct wastewater discharge sampling in accordance with applicable MWRA and municipal discharge permits.
  • Perform grab and composite sampling at designated sampling locations.
  • Ensure all sampling activities comply with permit specifications, approved methodologies, and industry standards.
  • Coordinate sampling schedules with the Contracting Officer Representative (COR).
  • Submit collected samples to a MADEP-certified or NELAP-accredited laboratory for analysis.
  • Maintain proper chain-of-custody procedures for all samples collected.
  • Electronically submit analytical results through the MWRA Pretreatment Information Management System Web Self-Monitoring Report (Web SMR) platform where required.
  • Provide electronic copies of analytical reports and chain-of-custody documentation to VABHS.
  • Prepare cost estimates for additional or modified sampling requirements within five (5) business days when requested.
  • Adhere to all OSHA regulations, VA directives, and VABHS safety policies.
  • Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) during all sampling activities.
  • Maintain safe work areas using barriers and warning signage as required.
  • Suspend work and notify the COR if operations interfere with healthcare facility activities or emergency operations.
