About The Position

Metro Water Recovery in Denver, CO, a leader among clean water utilities, provides wastewater conveyance and treatment services for over 2 million people. This multi-level job posting seeks an engineer to join a team offering stability, flexibility, and the opportunity to make a difference in protecting the region's health and environment. The position will be filled at one of three levels: Associate Wastewater Process Engineer, Staff Wastewater Process Engineer, or Senior Wastewater Process Engineer, depending on the candidate's qualifications. The role involves various wastewater process engineering activities related to the planning, study, design, operation, and optimization of water resource recovery facilities. Responsibilities may include assisting with and performing bench, pilot, and full-scale testing, conducting applied research to evaluate new technologies, and potentially functioning as a task manager, focus area leader, project manager, or technical manager.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in civil, environmental, chemical, mechanical, or other related engineering discipline from an accredited college or university (or equivalent experience).
  • Knowledge of basic engineering principles and fundamentals, including mass and energy balances, fluid mechanics, biological processes, and chemical reactions (Associate).
  • Knowledge of advanced data analytical tools and methods for wastewater process data (Associate).
  • Knowledge of biological process modeling utilizing tools such as BioWin, GPS-X, Sumo, SIMBA, or WEST (Associate).
