About The Position

Arcadis is seeking an Industrial Water Wastewater Process Engineer with 4+ years of consulting engineering experience to join their Industrial Water Treatment and Optimization (IWTO) team. This role will contribute to expanding portfolios of industrial water and wastewater design projects. The engineer will function as the process engineer, applying various treatment processes and technologies. They will receive technical mentoring, delegate tasks to junior staff, and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams. This is a hybrid position supporting clients across the United States with occasional international travel. Candidates in specific US locations are preferred but not required. This role is an immediate hiring priority.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Chemical, or Civil Engineering
  • 4+ years of progressively increasing responsibility in the industrial water/wastewater field
  • Proficient in performing engineering calculations using tools such as Excel and Mathcad
  • Developing equipment and piping specifications
  • Coordinating within multidisciplinary project teams
  • Providing guidance and mentorship to early-career engineers
  • Valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree or PhD in engineering or a related field of study with focus on wastewater treatment process engineering
  • EIT or Professional Engineer registration in one or more states

Responsibilities

  • Function as the process engineer on industrial water/wastewater projects
  • Apply processes and technologies for physical/chemical primary treatment, biological treatment, membrane treatment, adsorption, filtration, disinfection, thermal evaporation and crystallization
  • Receive technical mentoring and guidance from a senior process engineer
  • Delegate engineering or scientific calculations/ drawings to junior staff
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary design teams to implement complex treatment solutions
  • Support implementation of projects from study phase through design, construction, startup and commissioning, and operation and maintenance of treatment systems
  • Prepare and make presentations to clients and for professional meetings
  • Manage projects as necessary to meet both client and Arcadis’ expectations
  • Support business development including proposal preparation and meetings with clients
  • Assist in developing and preparing process design drawings, specifications, calculations, plans, and other technical deliverables for a variety of industrial water projects
  • Field work including surveys/data gathering, construction quality assurance, inspections, bench- and pilot-scale treatability testing
  • Assist with system commissioning and start-up, including training plant staff
