About The Position

The Wastewater Operator operates and maintains sludge, dewatering, treatment, processing, disposal, and testing equipment at a refinery or industrial facility to purify water and meet customer specifications. The operator is expected to learn and independently operate assigned equipment while meeting or exceeding processing and quality targets, work effectively with a team, and readily take on additional or new responsibilities. The role also involves using computer programs for process control and may require rotational 24-hour emergency on-call service if required by the site.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Ability to read, write, and comprehend English-language operational, process, safety, and quality instructions.
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
Valid driver's license and safe driving record.
Ability to pass a drug test and criminal background check.

Some experience in a related position and environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

Operate and maintain sludge, dewatering, treatment, processing, disposal, and testing equipment.
Learn and independently operate assigned machines and equipment to meet or exceed processing and quality targets.
Operate equipment such as pumps, engines, centrifuges, generators, valves, gates, mixers, conveyors, blowers, dryers, chemical-feed and odor-control systems, disinfection equipment, sludge-processing filters, belt presses, measuring and control devices, testing equipment, and material-handling equipment.
Work in a team environment and readily assume additional or new responsibilities.
Use computer programs for process control.
Serve rotational 24-hour emergency on-call if required by the site.
