About The Position

This position is responsible for operating and maintaining wastewater treatment facilities to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and company standards. The role involves monitoring treatment processes, performing routine tests, making adjustments to equipment, and responding to operational issues. The Wastewater Operator II will contribute to the safe and efficient operation of the facility, ensuring the quality of treated water discharged.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Valid Wastewater Operator certification (e.g., Grade II or equivalent).
Experience in operating and maintaining wastewater treatment facilities.
Knowledge of wastewater treatment processes, equipment, and regulations.
Ability to perform laboratory tests and interpret results.
Proficiency in using relevant tools and equipment.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communication and record-keeping skills.

Nice To Haves

Experience with SCADA systems.
Additional certifications in related fields.
Experience in a supervisory or lead role.

Responsibilities

Operate and maintain wastewater treatment plant equipment and systems.
Monitor treatment processes and make necessary adjustments to ensure optimal performance.
Perform routine laboratory tests and analyze results to assess water quality.
Respond to operational alarms and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
Maintain accurate operational logs and records.
Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental regulations and permits.
Perform preventative maintenance on equipment.
Assist with the collection and disposal of hazardous waste as needed.
Participate in training and development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.
