About The Position

This role is responsible for the operation and maintenance of equipment at small to medium-sized water/wastewater facilities.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED and 2 years of water/wastewater experience.
  • Valid Driver’s License (CDL preferred).
  • Water/Wastewater Operator’s License specific to state and site-specific requirements.
  • Ability to follow manual and operating instructions.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and internet applications.
  • Basic knowledge of water/wastewater operations and working knowledge of electrical components.
  • Communicates clearly and professionally.
  • Contributes to a positive internal and external customer experience.
  • Maintains composure in challenging situations.
  • Collaborates with others and seeks feedback.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a variety of equipment and machinery, including valves, pumps, motors, belt presses, disinfection equipment, and vehicles.
  • Conduct routine testing, monitoring, and maintenance of production wells and water/wastewater facilities.
  • Perform and document treatment processes and maintenance activities to ensure proper operations.
  • Record daily flow, chemical usage, and related data.
  • Respond to call outs and after-hours emergencies to repair treatment equipment, pumps, motors, sensing devices, instrumentation, and electrical systems.
  • Provide customer service functions as needed.
  • Ensure the security and cleanliness of treatment plant facilities and grounds.
  • Communicate with clients and customers regarding routine technical aspects of operations as needed.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities within the treatment facility.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
