Under the direction of the Wastewater Manager, this role performs routine tasks necessary to ensure the proper operation and mechanical integrity of Recirculating Sand Filter wastewater treatment systems, septic tank effluent pump systems, and effluent disposal drip irrigation fields, including completing necessary repairs. The position requires compliance with all policies outlined in the employee handbook. This role involves leadership duties such as directing crew members, supporting safety policies, acting as a lead in the department manager's absence, troubleshooting repairs, operating the RSF program, managing HR logs and timecards for crew members, and ensuring compliance with OSHA, Workman’s Compensation, and regulatory guidelines. The Foreman is responsible for maintaining a safety attitude, monitoring confined space entries, making decisions on trenching safety, building positive employee and customer relations, and performing other duties as assigned. Essential functions include repairing/replacing pumps, float switches, UV unit components, operating pumps manually, repairing force main leaks, completing sand filter upgrades, repairing drip field components, responding to service calls for STEP systems, and performing other assigned duties.
