About The Position

This is a part-time regular laborer position in the Wastewater Collections Section of the Provo City Public Works Department. Responsible, civic-minded individuals interested in supporting the citizens of Provo City by providing the services described herein are strongly encouraged to apply.

Requirements

• Any training and/or experience that would demonstrate an ability to successfully perform the duties of the job.
• Valid, lawful driver license and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Operate power rodding equipment of various sizes to clear lines.
• Operate television viewing and sealing equipment to detect sewer line leaks and obstructions.
• Seal leaks with packaging unit.
• Operate jet cleaning unit to clean lines, ditches and culverts.
• Locate access points with metal detectors and inspection of maps.
• Raise manholes to grade.
• Clean homes or other buildings following sewer backups.
• Keep equipment and shop area clean.
• Assemble safety pipes.
• Cut roots, grease, and other obstructing materials.
• Perform minor maintenance and repair of electrical parts on TV truck.
• Assist other departments needing jet machine.
• Perform field sampling.
• Assist other crew members and the public as needed and perform other related duties as required.
