Brown and Caldwell (BC) has an exciting opportunity to join our team as the Wastewater Area Practice Leader (APL) for the Central Area (Colorado, Utah and Texas). BC is a pioneer and recognized industry leader in wastewater treatment. We lead cutting edge research and deliver innovative solutions for our clients on the most challenging wastewater issues throughout the Central Area. This pivotal position will have the opportunity to build on this legacy and shape the strategy of the wastewater practice for Colorado, Utah and Texas. Specifically, you will help set priorities for business development, hiring and recruitment, and innovation/research and the utilization rate has been designed to allow you to engage in those activities in a thoughtful and meaningful way. The Wastewater APL leads complex environmental engineering work involving the planning, analysis, and design of solutions that support environmental protection, water sustainability, and public health out-comes. Operating with minimal supervision, this role applies advanced technical expertise to solve complex problems without clearly defined solutions across wastewater systems. This role may lead technical efforts across wastewater treatment and conveyance, solids and energy management, and related practice areas. This role is responsible for delivering high quality engineering analyses, designs, and recommendations with significant project impact. The Wastewater APL is responsible for driving the growth of the wastewater practice and advancing strategic priorities in the Central Area. In this role, you will also be responsible for understanding the unique trends in your area and using that knowledge to create differentiation from that of our competitors while serving as an important conduit between the wastewater practice and business operations. The Wastewater APL is a key connector between strategy and execution, working closely with Regional and National Practice Leaders, Client Service Managers, Growth Leaders, subject matter experts, and Project Managers to drive profitable growth, technical differentiation, staff technical development, and consistent, high‑quality project delivery. The APL role is designed to be shared with other responsibilities such as Project Manager, Client Service Manager, or Design Manager based on your specific expertise and relationships. The candidate must be located in Colorado, Utah or Texas. A remote work-from-home arrangement is allowed.
