About The Position

This role involves performing operational maintenance on all water treatment systems, monitoring the wastewater treatment plant, identifying and making necessary adjustments for potential problems, and performing chemical analysis of water samples. The operator will also be responsible for cleaning drain pads, operating a computer to monitor systems and alarms, maintaining daily records, reviewing readings from various instruments, and operating a wastewater truck. Additionally, the position oversees the operation of pre-treatment equipment, ensures the proper operation of rendering and Offal equipment, and requires willingness to cross-train and learn all tasks within the department. Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

High School or equivalent not required but beneficial.
Must pass waste water truck driving test.
Must be willing to learn all jobs in assigned area.
Good communication skills
Good attendance (Less than 4 Points)
Must have good basic math skills
Able to work without or little supervision.
NO disciplinary write-ups in last 6 months.
Skilled in oral and written communication.

Responsibilities

Performs operational maintenance on all water treatment systems.
Pump blood from kill room.
Monitors wastewater treatment plant and identifies needed changes and potential problems; makes necessary adjustments.
Performs chemical analysis of water samples.
Cleans drain pads.
Operates a computer to monitor pump stations, plant operations, and alarms.
Maintains daily records and shift logs of plant operations.
Reviews readings from meters, computers, and instruments.
Yard jockey - drives wastewater truck.
Oversees the operation of per-treatment equipment.
Ensure the Proper operation of rendering and Offal equipment.
Be willing to cross train and learn all tasks in department.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
