Requirements

• Five years of experience in poultry processing maintenance or related field OR completed entry level maintenance school certificate and pass entry level maintenance test.
• Ability to troubleshoot and make “on the spot” corrections to emergency situations.
• Ability to weld, arc and heli-arc, and use cutting torch.
• Good written and oral English communication skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work with a minimum of supervision.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to work from a ladder.
• Ability to work rotating shifts and weekends.
• A mechanical test will be administered and utilized to determine the skill level.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety lock out tag out procedures.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on all coop dump, paw system, Picking Room and 1st Processing Evisceration and chill equipment, including, but not limited to: repairing and troubleshooting overhead conveyor systems, Offal and Waste Water equipment, belts, chains and augers.
• Perform plumbing tasks for air, water, and hydraulic systems.
• Perform welding tasks including arc, heli-arc, and use of cutting torch.
• Work from blueprints and schematics.
• Generate work orders, store requisitions, and report deficiencies.
