About The Position

The City of Rockingham is an award-winning local government located 40KM south of the Perth CBD. As a Waste Truck Driver/Labourer, you will be required to work on roster collecting waste from household, commercial and public bins throughout the City in a safe, efficient and effective manner while adhering to safety procedures and maintaining a high level of customer service. The position is permanent full-time, averaging 38 hours per week, with a roster that applies and includes working Monday to Saturday, including public holidays.

Requirements

• Current and valid ‘HR’ (minimum ‘HR-A’) class driver’s licence.
• Experience in the operation of side and/or rear loader waste collection vehicles.
• Ability to work independently.
• Good time management skills.
• Demonstrated experience in waste collection vehicle operation.
• Demonstrated ability to deal with a variety of situations requiring a sensible and calm service approach.
• Experience complying with relevant Work Health and Safety legislation and working in a safe and efficient manner, having regard to own safety, the public and that of other workers.
• Minimum of one year’s experience driving heavy vehicles in a built-up metropolitan area.
• A satisfactory National police certificate is required.
