About The Position

The Waste Room Operator performs the function of transferring physical waste from the production lines to the correct waste or recycling receptacle in the waste room. These functions include a variety of activities that are directly or indirectly linked to the safe handling of finished and waste products. The role involves becoming proficient in multiple areas, teaching waste handling skills to others, understanding waste tank operations, and making necessary connections to transfer mix from reclaim mix silos to waste. The operator must follow proper cleaning procedures for all equipment in the waste room, protect and store cleaned equipment to prevent contamination, and frequently clean the waste room area while handling chemicals safely and wearing appropriate PPE. This includes cleaning equipment and waste bins with designated chemicals and handling chemicals with proper training. The operator must also follow all GMP procedures regarding PPE when working in and around the waste room and production areas. Additionally, the role requires measuring waste and recording it on waste trackers, and performing any other duties required by the business.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Aptitude for automated mechanical processes with good troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, math and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work multiple shifts and/or schedules.
  • High School diploma or GED or equivalent experience.

Nice To Haves

  • One-year related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Transferring physical waste from production lines to the correct waste or recycling receptacle.
  • Understanding Waste Tank operations.
  • Making necessary connections to transfer mix from reclaim mix silos to waste.
  • Following proper cleaning procedures for each piece of equipment in the waste room.
  • Protecting and storing cleaned equipment in accordance with plant practices to prevent contamination.
  • Cleaning waste room area frequently.
  • Handling chemicals in a proper way and wearing correct PPE.
  • Cleaning of equipment and waste bins with designated chemicals.
  • Handling of chemicals with proper training.
  • Following all GMP procedures around PPE and walking outside of waste room area including production.
  • Measuring out waste and recording it on waste trackers.
  • Performing any other duties required by the Business.
