About The Position

The Waste Processing Technician is responsible for assisting the crew with unloading/loading trucks, operating light equipment, processing a wide variety of waste materials for transport and disposal, and practicing good housekeeping. In addition, the Processing Technician will learn and perform various duties in the transfer station building and the outside environment, as well as perform any other duties as assigned by their supervisor.

Requirements

• Must be able to work a standard shift schedule M-F and work overtime as needed, typically a couple hours in late afternoon
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational, detail-orientation, and prioritization skills
• Ability to walk, stand, sit, and climb
• Ability to lift/carry 50lbs.
• Ability to work from heights and in confined spaces
• Qualify to wear a full-face respirator
• Consistently work in various weather conditions

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED, preferred
• Knowledge of forklift and/or skid steer operation is a plus
• Knowledge of Roll-Off and/or Trailer Mover operation is a plus

Responsibilities

• Ensure that all Health and Safety policies and procedures are followed.
• Operate light and heavy equipment, such as skid steers and forklifts.
• Load/unload trucks and trailers of all types including dry van trailers, straight trucks, and roll-off containers.
• Process and package materials for transport and disposal.
