About The Position

The Waste Processing Technician I (WPTI) is an entry level position responsible to safely perform fundamental tasks which may include off-loading inbound trucks, verifying container count, manifest number and other relevant data needed for waste processing. This role involves container sampling, recognizing non-conforming material, and processing of material through shredding operations, and direct loading into a pit. The WPT I is expected to have a general mechanical understanding of waste processing equipment, specifically via forklift, forklift attachments, hose, and valve operation. This position will handle various types of waste during their daily routine and is expected to be safety conscious and understand the correct PPE to utilize during their tasks.

Requirements

High School Diploma / GED preferred; Reworld offers GED Works – a fully funded program for employees to achieve their GED
1+ year of experience in shipping/receiving like environment
Forklift experience preferred
Able to pass respirator fit test

Ability to utilize NetSuite

Must exercise good judgement and problem-solving skills
Demonstrate attention to detail and time management
Ability to use Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

Operate heavy equipment such as fork trucks, balers, compactors, etc.
Process waste materials into like commodities or in accordance with vendor specifications
General housekeeping. Sweeping, washing and other maintenance of the area(s) Reworld is responsible for
Preventative Maintenance paperwork for equipment
Loading/Unloading of van trailers and/or flat beds
Managing collection points within our facility

Interact with plant personnel to determine needs of the local areas
