About The Position

Sentara CarePlex Hospital, located in Hampton, VA, is currently seeking a Waste Handler. This is a part time, day shift position with rotating weekends. The Waste Handler is responsible for transporting all types of waste, including RMW (Regulated Medical Waste), Recycled, Solid and Sharps and Chemo, as assigned, practicing safe work habits through the appropriate use various dedicated waste containers. Must follow procedures for transporting waste per departmental guidelines. Adheres to all regulatory standards for waste collection and transport.

Requirements

High School Grad or Equivalent
1 year of previous housekeeping/ESD experience can be considered in lieu of High School education
Previous housekeeping/ESD experience in a hospital setting is strongly preferred

Responsibilities

Transporting all types of waste, including RMW (Regulated Medical Waste), Recycled, Solid and Sharps and Chemo, as assigned.
Practicing safe work habits through the appropriate use various dedicated waste containers.
Following procedures for transporting waste per departmental guidelines.
Adhering to all regulatory standards for waste collection and transport.
