About The Position

The City of Fresno is seeking energetic, hardworking individuals to join their team. The Waste Container Maintenance Worker is a working-level class that participates in the moving, cleaning, delivery, and repairing of solid waste containers. This role may provide limited work direction to unskilled laborers and involves operating hand and power tools, as well as assisting with reconditioning and minor maintenance of bins and containers. One vacancy exists in the Container Acquisition & Maintenance Division of the Department of Public Utilities. Immediate and future vacancies will be filled from this eligible list for a period of three (3) months from the date the eligible list is created, with the option of extending that period for up to a maximum of two years at the City's discretion. If the examination process is suspended for this recruitment, the eligible list may be limited to three (3) months.

Requirements

  • Possession of a High School Diploma or GED completion
  • Two (2) years of full-time, paid, general labor experience using common hand and power tools
  • Possession of a valid Class C California Driver's License at the time of application and continued maintenance throughout the entire term of employment
