About The Position

Troubadour Golf & Field Club is seeking a Waste Collection Supervisor to join the Facilities Department. The Waste Collection Supervisor oversees all waste and recycling collection operations across the private golf club property, ensuring safe, discreet, and member-focused service. This role manages staff, schedules, equipment, compliance, and continuous improvement efforts to maintain clubhouse standards, support events/tournaments, and advance sustainability goals. Full-Time Position - Starting Pay Range is $23 per hour

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or supervisory training preferred.
  • 3+ years’ experience in commercial/refuse collection, waste management, or facilities operations; 1+ year in a supervisory role preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Demonstrated knowledge of local waste regulations and recycling best practices.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and scheduling/organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift and assist with heavy containers when needed; ability to work early mornings, weekends, and during events.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in hospitality, private club, resort, or municipal refuse operations.
  • Certification in waste management or safety training (e.g., OSHA basics).

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead the waste collection team: hiring, training, coaching, scheduling, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions.
  • Monitor and enforce safety procedures; conduct regular safety briefings, toolbox talks, and incident investigations; maintain safety records.
  • Oversee vehicle and equipment maintenance program: routine inspections, preventative maintenance scheduling, and coordination with maintenance vendors.
  • Manage inventory of waste-handling supplies, bins, PPE, and recycling containers; approve purchases and control costs.
  • Coordinate with clubhouse operations, culinary, events, and grounds teams to adjust service levels for high-traffic or high-visibility areas while minimizing member disruption.
  • Implement and monitor recycling and waste-reduction initiatives; track diversion rates and recommend improvements.
  • Maintain professional, discreet presence around members and staff; handle member or staff concerns related to waste service promptly and diplomatically.
  • Prepare operational reports and KPIs (route completion, on-time performance, safety incidents, cost per ton, recycling diversion) for departmental leadership.
  • Develop and update SOPs for collection procedures, event support, and emergency response.
  • Directly supervise waste collection drivers and auxiliary staff; set expectations, assign shifts, and ensure adequate coverage.
  • Lead onboarding, skills development, and cross-training programs to create operational redundancy and improve service quality.
  • Drive team culture emphasizing safety, discretion, timeliness, and member service.
