About The Position

The National Western Center (NWC) is seeking a Campus Green Team - Waste Collection & Diversion Tech to manage waste collection and processing through the campus diversion program. This role ensures safe and sustainable waste handling, collaborates with partners on waste diversion, and tracks waste data for reporting. Responsibilities

  • Operating collection and diversion equipment and performing routine and daily maintenance checks and repairs.
  • Daily pick up of waste from sites around campus, using equipment for waste collection and potentially involving physical lifting and movement.
  • Working in the HUB building to manage the NWC diversion program, including using equipment, physical sorting, and movement of waste for vendor collections.
  • Auditing and managing the NWC waste diversion program from point of use to the HUB to ensure process efficiency.
  • Coordinating and working with the Sustainability Manager to optimize routes and schedules for maximum efficiency.
  • Adhering to and complying with safety regulations and other governing agency regulations.
  • Educating the public and partners on proper waste disposal practices.
  • Working with animal manures, wood chips, mulch, compost, and down wood in processes.
