About The Position

The primary responsibility of the Warranty Repair Technician is to repair or fix any issues that may be reported by an owner or dealer. This role involves performing various repair tasks on marine vessels, including gel coat application, structural repairs, and electrical system troubleshooting. The technician must be able to work safely and effectively in a fast-paced environment, maintain a clean workspace, and adhere to all safety and hazardous material guidelines.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of one-year related experience and/or training.
  • Active driver’s license in good standing.
  • Ability to travel occasionally based on business need.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Responsibilities

  • Fair and Finish repairs for final gel coat application and match new finish to existing gel coat.
  • Spray gel coat, wet sand and buff to match new finish.
  • Spray nonskid gel coat.
  • Repair stringers and bulkheads.
  • Able to de-rig the electrical and hydraulic systems in the console as well as throughout the vessel.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and replace basic 12-volt electrical items, such as lights, horns, switches, batteries, chargers etc.
  • Ability to perform job functions safely and effectively in a fast-paced environment while wearing all required PPE and following safety policy and hazardous material guidelines.
  • Must practice good housekeeping by keeping work areas clean at all times.
  • Other duties as assigned.
