About The Position

Pedder Hyundai or Moreno Valley is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Warranty Clerk to join our Automotive Service Department. The Warranty Clerk is responsible for accurately processing, submitting, tracking, and reconciling manufacturer warranty claims while ensuring documentation meets manufacturer and dealership requirements. The ideal candidate has automotive dealership experience, strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively with Service Advisors, Technicians, Parts personnel, and management.

Requirements

  • Previous automotive dealership warranty or service department experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of automotive warranty claim procedures and manufacturer requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to review and interpret repair orders and supporting documentation.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to learn dealership management systems (DMS).
  • Experience with automotive DMS and manufacturer warranty portals preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating with a team.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Process and submit manufacturer warranty claims accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Review repair orders for proper documentation, labor operations, parts, technician notes, mileage, and required supporting information.
  • Verify warranty coverage and eligibility based on manufacturer guidelines.
  • Review warranty repair orders for accuracy and completeness before submission.
  • Track submitted claims and monitor claim status, including rejected, returned, or unpaid claims.
  • Research and correct rejected or disputed warranty claims.
  • Resubmit corrected claims and follow up on outstanding claims to ensure timely payment.
  • Maintain accurate records of warranty claims, payments, adjustments, and correspondence.
  • Work closely with Service Advisors and Technicians to obtain missing or required documentation.
  • Ensure warranty claims comply with manufacturer policies, procedures, and audit requirements.
  • Assist with warranty audits and provide supporting documentation when requested.
  • Reconcile warranty receivables and identify discrepancies.
  • Communicate with manufacturer representatives regarding claim questions, corrections, and payment issues.
  • Maintain organized electronic and physical warranty records.
  • Stay current on manufacturer warranty policies, procedures, and changes.
  • Protect confidential customer, employee, and dealership information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
