About The Position

Under general supervision, perform specialized clerical duties related to court operations on an assigned shift. This role involves providing customer service, managing court documentation, and interacting with various stakeholders including law enforcement, judges, and defendants. The position requires attention to detail, discretion, and the ability to work with confidential information.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED or higher
  • Three (3) years of general clerical experience
  • One (1) year customer service experience
  • TLETS/TCIC certificate must be completed within 18 months of hire date.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by furnishing information about court procedures, policies, and options related to citations, warrants, and court dates.
  • Interact with law enforcement personnel, judges, and magistrates.
  • Enter data into the case management system and maintain the warrant database.
  • Answer live chats to provide customer service daily and after business hours.
  • File motions, research outstanding warrants, and review documentation for completeness.
  • Match warrants and commitments to initiate the arrest process.
  • File emergency protective or restraining orders and notify protected parties.
  • Accept cash bond payments as required after hours from escorted defendants.
  • Maintain activity logs and generate periodic reports, including criminal background checks from TLETS/TCIC database.
  • Provide warrant information to law enforcement personnel, government agencies, military recruiters, bail bond companies, and schools.
  • Confirm criminal and traffic warrants to EPPD Channel 1, process electronic warrants, and transmit to law enforcement personnel.
  • Generate computer-printed notices for individuals with new warrants or commitments.
  • File warrants and affidavits using alphabetical or numeric systems.
  • Review submitted documents for proper signatures, dates, and charges.
  • Ensure law enforcement personnel complete appropriate logs before leaving the counter.
  • Enter all data into the warrant database for future arrests.
  • Activate new traffic class “C” warrants, proofread, and check information against original tickets and electronic case files.
  • Remove recalled warrants from the active file, ensuring proper documentation.
  • Perform duties of co-workers to ensure continuity of operations during absences.
  • Assist in training new employees.
  • Process and notify the states of Arizona and New Mexico of requests to suspend residents’ driver’s licenses.
  • Receive, verify, and process out all capias or indicted criminal charges taken over by El Paso County courts.
  • Work closely with EPPD liaison officer on emergency protective orders, NCIC clearance of felony charges, and updating of penal code changes.
