About The Position

Under the general supervision of the Physical Distribution Manager, and the direct supervision of the Shipping Supervisor, performs any duties necessary to ensure the safe, quality driven, efficient, and continuous operation of warehouse processes. Will coordinate efforts with other crew members, engineers, technologists, or support personnel. Maintains machines and work areas in clean, good operating condition. Works from general verbal and written instructions, and in accordance with established operating procedures, performs the following essential functions. Working from general instructions from the plant management team, and all levels within the organization in support of the four Johns Manville core values: People, Passion, Performance, and Protection.

Requirements

  • General knowledge of lift mounted and office computers.
  • Ability to operate SAP including scanning product and printing necessary documents for shipping.
  • Ability to understand how to safely pull material from production units and place into proper storage locations.
  • Ability to understand how to safely load trailers.
  • Ability to maintain warehouse in an orderly manner.
  • Ability to maintain good/safe stacks.
  • Ability to rotate product to maintain FIFO.
  • Ability to scan material before loading into trailers.
  • Ability to count inbound and outbound trailers.
  • Ability to report discrepancies and damage.
  • Ability to assist in inventory control including FIFO, cycle counts, and physical inventory.
  • Ability to maintain the case sealer for proper operation and sealing of cartons.
  • Ability to program case sealer for proper labels.
  • Ability to reset labelers, put new rolls of labels on, and put new rolls of ribbon on.
  • Ability to troubleshoot labels for printing and applying issues.
  • Ability to print off labels on the desktop printer for relabeling.
  • Ability to assign material to the sort lanes.
  • Ability to use proper LTCT to clear box jams.
  • Ability to safely unload bulk tanker of raw materials.
  • Ability to use proper unloading methods to ensure no release of products.
  • Ability to unload trailers of raw materials.
  • Ability to put material in storage locations.
  • Ability to assist in the FIFO of material.
  • Ability to receive materials in the computer.
  • Ability to communicate discrepancies found in the counts or damage of incoming material.
  • Uses safe work practices and reports hazardous conditions.
  • Follows safety guidelines.
  • Wears all required PPE.
  • Follows all general shop rules.
  • Cleans work area.
  • Attends all monthly safety meetings.
  • Completes safety/beware audits on a monthly basis.

  • Must be able to walk, stoop, kneel and climb ladders and staircases.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs as required.

Responsibilities

  • Supports and promotes safe practices and environmental commitments in alignment with company commitments, policies, and compliance requirements.
  • Follows JSAs, uses and promotes safe work practices, and reports hazardous conditions at all times.
  • Wears protective clothing and equipment as required.
  • Inspects mobile equipment for deficiencies and fills out a checklist at the beginning of each shift or prior to first use.
  • Operates SAP including scanning product and printing necessary documents for shipping.
  • Safely pulls material from production units and places into proper storage locations in the warehouse, ensuring stacks are stable and/or loads into trailers with proper loading techniques to prevent product damage.
  • Maintains the warehouse in an orderly manner, maintains good/safe stacks, and rotates product to maintain FIFO.
  • Pulls material for shipping using FIFO, scanning the material before loading into trailers ensuring correct material with proper count.
  • Loads trailers to maximize trailer usage for customer delivery.
  • Safely unloads inbound materials and properly stores them to prevent damage.
  • Counts inbound and outbound trailers and reports any discrepancies or damage to the supervisor.
  • Assists in inventory control including FIFO, cycle counts, and physical inventory.
  • Maintains the case sealer for proper operation and sealing of cartons, inspecting glue lines and keeping the case sealer clean.
  • Programs case sealer for proper labels, resets labelers, and replaces label rolls and ribbon.
  • Troubleshoots label printing and application issues.
  • Prints labels on the desktop printer for relabeling when needed.
  • Assigns material to sort lanes, maintaining good material flow through the case sealer and labeling.
  • Uses proper LTCT to clear box jams from the conveyor system.
  • Safely unloads bulk tanker raw materials (resins, urea, oil, ammonia) using proper PPE and unloading methods.
  • Receives materials in the computer system to reflect plant inventory.
  • Communicates discrepancies in counts or damage of incoming materials.
  • Cleans work area.
  • Attends monthly safety meetings.
  • Completes safety/beware audits on a monthly basis.
  • Completes computer-based training and other compliance programs.
