About The Position

The Warehouseman operates industrial forklifts and related equipment to move raw and indirect materials between trucks, containers, the raw materials warehouse, mixing areas, and production processes. The role follows standard operating procedures for receiving, storing, and dispatching materials, and uses RF scanning equipment to track pallets and inventory. It also involves material handling, equipment checks, returning pallets to storage, and moving rail cars with a Track Mobile.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Basic manufacturing skills.
• Ability to understand metric units of weight and measure.
• Knowledge of production processes, raw materials, quality control, costs, and techniques for maximizing effective manufacturing and distribution.
• Ability to understand and retain process steps necessary to perform production processing.
• Regular and dependable attendance.
• Ability to perform the physical activities described in the posting, including material handling and lifting.

Nice To Haves

• Current forklift license.
• Associate degree (two-year degree) in a related field.
• CRC Silver Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Drive an industrial forklift to lift and move raw-material pallets from trucks and containers to the raw materials warehouse.
• Follow standard operating procedures for receiving, storing, and dispatching raw and indirect materials.
• Work rotating shifts when required.
• Complete daily work reports as required.
• Report defective or suspect materials when observed.
• Maintain attention to detail and good working relationships with the warehouse team and others.
• Comply with company rules and regulations.
• Scan raw-material pallet barcodes using an RF unit.
• Count packages and bags on pallets and enter the counts into the RF unit.
• Transport materials from the warehouse to mixing and production processes.
• Scan door barcodes.
• Manually lift bags, boxes, and containers when required.
• Move rail cars using Track Mobile rail car movers.
• Return empty pallets to the storage area.
• Change forklift fuel cylinders when needed.
• Perform daily forklift equipment checks before work.
• Operate a freight elevator.
• Use FIFO, Kanban, and 5S practices.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
