About The Position

Thompson Facilities Services at Lincoln University is seeking a dependable Warehouse Worker to join their college campus operations team. This role is responsible for receiving, storing, organizing, and distributing materials, supplies, and equipment used across campus facilities. The goal is to ensure accurate inventory control, timely deliveries, and a safe, organized warehouse environment that supports maintenance, dining, custodial, and administrative operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Previous warehouse, logistics, or material handling experience preferred (1–2 years)
  • Forklift certification preferred or willingness to obtain
  • Basic computer skills for inventory tracking systems and work orders
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Valid driver’s license may be required depending on campus needs
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift
  • Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 50 pounds (occasionally more with assistance)
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach overhead regularly
  • Comfortable working in warehouse, loading dock, and outdoor delivery environments
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment safely
  • Exposure to varying temperatures depending on warehouse conditions

Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments for accuracy and damage
  • Unload, move, and store supplies, materials, and equipment in designated areas
  • Pick, pack, and distribute items to campus departments based on work orders or requests
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with cycle counts and audits
  • Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, and forklifts (if certified)
  • Organize storage areas to ensure efficiency, safety, and cleanliness
  • Prepare outgoing shipments and deliveries as needed
  • Coordinate with vendors, drivers, and campus facilities staff
  • Follow all safety procedures and OSHA guidelines for material handling
  • Report inventory discrepancies, damaged goods, or safety hazards to supervision
  • Assist with special campus events requiring setup, delivery, or logistics support
