About The Position

Penske Logistics is hiring a sanitation worker to maintain a clean and sanitary warehouse and office in accordance with company quality, safety, and productivity standards. The position is in a cold-storage facility with temperatures ranging from 28°F to 55°F. The schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., working five 8-hour shifts. Pay is $19.57 per hour. Prior warehouse experience is not required, though preferred. The role is designated safety-sensitive and requires working alertly and safely, including accepting responsibility for personal safety and the safety of others. Regular, predictable, full attendance and willingness to work at the specified location and schedule are essential. Candidates must complete a Penske employment application and submit to a background investigation and drug screening.

Requirements

Proficient reading skills and ability to follow directions.

Responsibilities

Mop, sweep, scrub, and vacuum surfaces.
Empty trash bins and clean the trash area daily; operate the trash compactor when applicable.
Pull pallets and clean or scrub product bays on a rotating basis.
Clean spills or breakages involving inventoried products, recover damaged goods, and determine whether items can be resold or must be disposed of according to food-safety standards and requirements.
Clean other warehouse and office areas, including break rooms, restrooms, and offices.
Complete daily sanitation logs.
Use chemicals, detergents, and cleaning equipment.
Operate a scrubber and pallet jacks when required to perform duties.
Identify and address cleanliness and sanitation issues.
Comply with all safety requirements.
Escalate issues promptly and directly to the supervisor.
Electronically scan products using a warehouse management system.
Perform other projects and tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
