About The Position

John F. Martin & Sons, LLC is seeking a dependable and motivated individual to join its logistics sanitation team in Newmanstown, Pennsylvania. The role helps maintain a refrigerated distribution warehouse that is clean, sanitary, organized, and safe while following cold-chain food safety standards. Work takes place entirely in multi-temperature zones, including coolers and freezers, so the employee must be comfortable working continuously in a cold warehouse environment. The position includes cleaning warehouse floors, racks, docks, staging areas, common areas, restrooms, hallways, and breakrooms. It also involves handling spills and waste, using cleaning chemicals safely, following food safety protocols, and helping warehousing, receiving, and shipping departments when assigned. This safety-sensitive role requires the use of warehouse equipment. Job offers are contingent on passing a pre-employment physical and drug screening.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old to operate OSHA-regulated equipment.
Must be comfortable working continuously in a cold-weather warehouse environment, including coolers and freezers.
Must demonstrate attention to detail, reliability, consistent attendance, and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Must be willing to attend and complete required training in Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), chemical handling, and warehouse safety equipment.
Must pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in warehouse sanitation, industrial cleaning, or a refrigerated logistics environment.
Knowledge of cold-chain food safety standards.

Responsibilities

Clean, sanitize, and maintain warehouse inventory floors, storage racks, loading docks, and staging zones.
Sweep, mop, scrub, and wash surfaces using manual and powered equipment, including floor scrubbers.
Clean common areas, restrooms, hallways, and breakrooms as assigned.
Respond safely to and clean up product spills.
Empty trash receptacles, sort pallets, manage recycling, and move heavy waste carts to designated disposal areas.
Dilute, handle, and apply cleaning chemicals and sanitizers according to Safety Data Sheets, product labels, and company safety guidelines.
Follow Good Manufacturing Practices and food safety protocols to prevent cross-contamination in a cold-storage and distribution setting.
Assist warehousing, receiving, and shipping departments with tasks when assigned by supervisors.
