About The Position

This is a part-time position with 25 hours per week, requiring availability Monday through Saturday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The role involves driving a vehicle to transport donated materials from collection points to processing centers and points of sale, as well as accepting merchandise donations according to established procedures. The ideal candidate must be 21 years or older and possess a valid, insured driver's license.

Requirements

Must be 21 years or older.
Must be a licensed insured driver.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Must have a valid Driver’s License and current Medical Examiner's Certificate.
Driving record of the past 2 years must be insurable (4 points or less).
Must have actual driving experience for at least a 1-1/2-ton van type truck with an acceptable driving record.
Able to maintain daily reports of mileage, fuel usage and similar trip documents.
Must be able to pass a criminal background check and random drug screens.
Must maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record acceptable to Goodwill's liability insurance provider.
If at any time the employee is unable to maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record acceptable to GESMV’s liability insurance provider, they must immediately notify Human Resources.
Able to load and unload trucks of merchandise including clothing, household goods, furniture and appliances.
Able to follow map to route efficiently.

Responsibilities

Picks up donations of furniture, appliances and household goods at various locations.
Loads and sorts materials on trailer and straight trucks according to instructions.
Drives box truck to various donation sites and unloads in a safe and efficient manner.
Maintains a cheerful and pleasant disposition when serving customers.
Maintains records of donations and provides daily reports on trailer and straight truck condition.
Follows instructions on vehicle care and posting of signs as needed.
Ensures all proper agency specific logs and paperwork are completed legibly and submitted in a timely manner.
Maintains premises in compliance with agency safety and housekeeping practices.
Shows promptness and punctuality while making Goodwill Store deliveries according to the delivery schedule.
Helps unload or load trucks at the dock.
Maintains driving and truck records, including maintenance and mileage reports.
Keeps truck equipped with first aid kit and fire extinguisher.
Maintains safety equipment and restraints according to policy and maintains high safety standards.
Operates equipment in a safe manner while identifying and correcting any outstanding safety concerns.
Adheres to local and state traffic regulations.
Complies with Goodwill Easter Seals Miami Valley rules and regulations.
Drives manual and automatic vehicles.
Complies with all Agency policies, procedures and safety standards throughout work areas and maintains same to meet CARF, Department of Labor and other regulatory standards.
Other duties as assigned.
