About The Position

This role is for a Non CDL Delivery Driver/Warehouse Teammate who thrives on providing excellent customer service, is safety and service-oriented, and possesses the attention to detail necessary for accurate order fulfillment. The position involves both warehouse duties and driving responsibilities. About the Warehouse Role: Responsibilities include counting, verifying, and receiving incoming vendor shipments and customer return material. Stocking and maintaining the warehouse, and picking, documenting, and packing customer orders are key. The role requires a high attention to detail to ensure customer satisfaction, handling shipping discrepancies, identifying and storing nonstock/special-order/damaged material, and completing necessary documentation for third-party carrier shipments. The teammate will also load and unload trucks, operate a warehouse forklift and other material handling equipment safely, and inform supervisors of stock depletions, count discrepancies, or damaged merchandise. Ensuring security and controls to protect assets, maintaining warehouse cleanliness, order, and safety, and assisting co-workers are also part of the role. All job functions must be performed in accordance with the company’s Safety Standards, and required safety and compliance training must be completed. About the Driver Role: Responsibilities include operating trucks safely and in compliance with Company rules, laws, and regulations to various destinations. This involves loading the truck at the Profit Center with merchandise for delivery, securing the load properly, and ensuring necessary equipment for safe unloading is available. The driver must understand shipping documents, have accurate directions, review documentation for order accuracy, unload correct merchandise, and obtain legible signatures. Collecting outstanding payments for cash sale deliveries and resolving shipping discrepancies with customers are also required. The driver will also load trucks with merchandise from vendor locations, customer returns, and other wholesalers. Providing sales leads and inspecting the truck for safe operating condition before departure are part of the role. The driver must keep the truck clean, advise management of mechanical problems, remove keys at the end of the workday, and complete required safety and compliance training.

Requirements

  • 1 year warehouse receiving and material handling experience
  • As a company business driver, you must: Be at least 21 years old
  • Possess a proper and valid driver’s license
  • Have a driving record that meets the criteria for being an Authorized Driver in accordance with Company policy
  • Read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Responsibilities

  • Counting, verifying, and receiving incoming vendor shipments and customer return material.
  • Stocking and maintaining the warehouse.
  • Picking, documenting, and packing customer orders in accordance with Company policy and procedure.
  • Handling all shipping discrepancies per procedures or forwarding appropriate paperwork to designated employee.
  • Identifying nonstock, special-order material, and damaged material and storing in proper warehouse locations.
  • Completing necessary documentation for customer shipments delivered via third-party carrier.
  • Loading and unloading trucks.
  • Operating warehouse forklift and other material handling equipment safely.
  • Informing immediate supervisor of stock depletions, count discrepancies, or damaged/defective/nonsaleable merchandise.
  • Ensuring security and controls are in place and upheld to protect Profit Center assets.
  • Maintaining warehouse cleanliness, order, and safety.
  • Removing empty cartons, metal bands, pallets, and other debris.
  • Assisting co-workers in servicing customers.
  • Performing all job functions in accordance with the company’s Safety Standards.
  • Successfully completing required safety and compliance training programs as assigned.
  • Operating trucks safely and in compliance with Company rules, applicable laws, and regulations.
  • Loading the truck at the Profit Center with Hajoca merchandise to be delivered.
  • Securing the load properly so that nothing will shift, get damaged, or fall from the truck.
  • Ensuring that the necessary equipment to safely unload the merchandise is available.
  • Understanding the shipping documents that are associated with the merchandise for each delivery and having accurate directions to each delivery destination.
  • Reviewing shipping documentation and ensuring order accuracy.
  • Unloading correct merchandise from the truck and placing it where the receiving party wants it.
  • Obtaining legible signature for all merchandise delivered per Company policy and procedure.
  • Collecting and securing outstanding payments for all cash sale deliveries prior to releasing the material to the customer.
  • Working with customers at the delivery site to resolve shipping discrepancies quickly and accurately.
  • Loading the truck at other locations with merchandise.
  • Providing sales leads by noting prospective customer names and addresses discovered in the course of making deliveries.
  • Inspecting the truck and required parts and accessories to determine safe operating condition prior to departure from the Hajoca location.
  • Keeping truck clean of debris in cab and body.
  • Advising management of any mechanical problems with the truck.
  • At the end of the workday, removing keys from the truck and storing keys in the approved location.
